SNSF supports our new Sinergia consortium with CHF 3.1 million

The new Sinergia consortium is dedicated to finding new and effective treatment strategies for diffuse midline glioma, a highly aggressive pediatric brain tumor.

The team involves principal investigators from the DMG/DIPG Center Zurich (Nazarian lab), the ETH Zurich (Yanik lab), the NCMM (Waszak lab), and project partners from the University Hospital Zurich, University of Zurich, University of California San Francisco, the Anticancer Fund, Elsevier, and the Children’s Brain Tumor Network.

Please read the press release from NCMM for more information about the consortium:

Welcome, Martin!

Martin Burkert, currently a Ph.D. student in the Ohler and Schwarz Lab at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, will join our lab as a Researcher starting Feb 1, 2021 and study the genetic architecture of molecular phenotypes in pediatric brain tumors. Welcome to the lab!

Welcome, Frida!

Frida Moi, currently a Master’s student in Civil Engineering at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), will join our lab as a Research Assistant on Jan 1, 2021, and study the genomic and epigenomic landscape of H3K27M-mutant diffuse midline gliomas. Welcome to the lab!

New collaborative paper on chromatin accessibility landscape of pediatric T-ALL

Analysis of chromatin accessibility of human T‐cell precursors revealed progressive chromatin condensation during maturation. Pediatric T‐ALLs resemble the most immature populations indicating that the epigenetic landscape of this type of leukemia is most similar to the earliest thymic precursors.
